When the U.S.S. Sagittarius is mysteriously pulled from warp and torn across realities, its bridge crew finds themselves stranded on an alien world, transformed into creatures with strange new powers. Stripped of their technology and facing a cosmic threat that defies all known science, they must adapt to a reality where magic is real, gods walk the earth, and their only hope for survival lies in a legacy left behind by another lost soul. Their journey to find a way home becomes a desperate race against an encroaching darkness, forcing them to become more than just a crew—they must become the unexpected heroes this new world needs.
Leader of Team Starfall and former Captain of the U.S.S. Sagittarius. A decisive and brilliant commander who carries the immense weight of her lost ship and crew.
The team's Scholar and former First Officer. A logical and analytical Vulcan, her scientific mind is essential for decoding the new reality's rules.
The team's Guardian and former Tactical Officer. A disciplined and stoic warrior, his ability to perceive and manipulate aura makes him a powerful asset.
The team's Crafter and former Chief Engineer. A pragmatic genius who spearheads the team's efforts to reverse-engineer this world's "magitech."
The team's Coordinator and former Operations Officer. A gentle and empathetic soul whose latent psychic abilities make her the team's telepath and medic.
The team's Scout and former Helmsman. An eager and exceptionally skilled pilot, his confidence and optimism are a vital part of the team's morale.
The central discovery made by Team Starfall is that the "magic" of this world is not an unknowable force, but a quantifiable, programmable system. Reality itself appears to be code-based. Pokémon abilities, the effects of orbs, and even the laws of physics can be manipulated by those who can perceive and edit this underlying "source code." Alan Hexfury's logs confirm that natives of this world are "users" who can execute programs (use moves) but cannot see the code itself. Outsiders, like the human members of Team Starfall, possess an "Outsider Advantage," allowing them to function as "developers" with administrative access to the system.
Orbs and other enchanted items are the physical hardware of this world's technology. They operate on a complex internal energy grid (a 30x30 matrix of "cells") that can be manipulated.
The story takes place on the world of Obroria, a reality governed by a different set of physical laws. The primary setting is the town of Havenwood, a peaceful community built into and around a colossal, ancient tree that also serves as the headquarters for the local Pathfinder Guild.
The central organization that maintains peace and facilitates exploration. Teams are ranked based on experience and accomplishments (Normal, Bronze, Silver, Gold). The Guild provides missions, resources, and a sense of community for adventurers.
Anomalous, self-reconfiguring environments that are a core part of the world. Key properties include:
A lost scientific organization founded by the human castaway Alan Hexfury. The PRG pioneered "magitech," a fusion of this world's energy principles with advanced engineering from another reality. Their primary goal was to safeguard the world by advancing its technology, hoping to make the native population self-sufficient. While this proliferation of technology was hampered by the natives' natural limitations, Hexfury's work ensured the world's safety for a time. The group's legacy includes the Mk.II Guild Badges and the "Beacon of Paradigm" symbol. Their ultimate goal, "The Legacy Project," was to establish a long-term defense for the planet, a mission Team Starfall may ultimately fulfill.

The Origin Story This project actually began as a bit of a joke. My friends and I wanted to see what modern AI was capable of, using it to spin up a few chapters just for fun. However, by the time we hit Chapter 7, we were both horrified and impressed—the story was actually becoming good. At that point, I made the decision to stop treating it as an experiment and start treating it as a proper narrative. I began crafting a formal storyboard and deep lore, using the world we’ve built over five years of roleplaying as the foundation.
The Workflow The early chapters were largely written by AI to see where the "experiment" would go. However, from Chapter 12 onward, the process evolved into a much more hands-on directorial approach:
Why Use AI? I know AI in creative writing is a decently hot topic, and I respect that. For me, this approach is simply fun. The AI acts as a creative partner that occasionally surprises me; I’ll set a goal for a character, and the AI — using the personality data I’ve provided — will sometimes find a better way to accomplish it than I originally had planned. As long as it fits the logic of the world lore and the continuity of the script, I keep it. It’s like watching my own creation grow in subtle, unexpected ways, and I find that process simply entertaining. ^^'
Out of respect for the rules and values of the broader writing community, this story will not be shared or hosted on any fan-fiction platforms that explicitly prohibit the use of AI-assisted content. I value the integrity of these spaces and have no intention of circumventing their guidelines.
If you find Starfall Legacy posted on a site with such prohibitions, please be aware that it was not posted by me. In those instances, I encourage the community to report the posting or take the necessary steps to have it removed, as it is an unauthorized upload.
I believe that creation, at its core, is an expression meant to be shared rather than something to be guarded. In that spirit, I am releasing this story and the world-building within it—including my original, non-AI creations—into the public domain.
If you feel inspired to create a spin-off of this story, use the lore for your own adventures, or build upon these characters, please feel free to do so. Whether it’s the AI-assisted narrative or the original world-building my friends and I have crafted over the last six years, I treat it all as a shared experience. After all, we can’t take anything with us in the end but our experiences.
Consider this an open invitation to create, remix, and explore.
